Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the country has faced a severe crisis with profound human and economic repercussions. In response, the European Union has launched a EUR 75 million grant-funded initiative, in collaboration with Nefco, to repair and modernize critical infrastructure in Ukraine.

Eurostat has unveiled a new webpage dedicated to tourism satellite accounts (TSA) in Europe, as part of its experimental statistics section.

The newly released experimental data offers indicators that evaluate the economic contribution of the tourism sector. This complements existing information from the accommodation sector and household surveys, which primarily focus on visitor movements within and between countries.

The German-Danish cooperation between the southern parts of Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein has a long tradition and at the same time varies. The current program area and thus the funding region for Interreg Germany-Danmark includes the Syddanmark region and the Sjælland region on the Danish side and the districts of Nordfriesland, Ostholstein, Plön, Rendsburg-Eckernförde and Schleswig-Flensburg on the German side as well as the independent cities of Flensburg, Kiel and Lübeck and Neumünster.

The 2024 call refers to priorities 2, 3 and 4.

The call is addressed primarily to city administrations that are willing to work with other European cities to develop and implement Integrated Action Plans to respond to their local challenges. 

Cities and other public bodies from the Member States and Partner States (Norway and Switzerland) of the European Union, as well as countries benefitting from the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia) are eligible to receiving funding for their participation in Action Planning Networks.
